During the last year, WordPress released over 30 upgrades. Plug ins (eg shopping carts, sign up forms etc), apart from having their own upgrades also need to be checked after each WordPress upgrade to ensure that everything on the website still works the way it’s meant to.
When one client who hadn’t updated their theme for 9 months went to do an update, they found that their website no longer worked. All of their content had to be copied and the site rebuilt.
And just as your computer files need to be regularly back up (because you are doing that, aren’t you?), so does your website. Then if something does go wrong, your website can be easily rebuilt.

Care Plan FAQs
Am I locked into a contract?
No! We are all about building a relationship with you.
While we would hate to see you go, we know financial needs weigh on many business decisions and don’t want to lock anyone in … all of our website care plans are contract-free, so you may cancel at any time.
To cancel, simply send us an email and let us know. We’ll immediately stop your next payment and you’ll continue to receive your website care plan benefits until the end of the period for which you’ve paid. After that your Care plan features will be removed.
What happens if something goes wrong?
Our website Care plans are based on preventative care.
We cannot promise that your website will not be hacked, goes down, breaks, etc., but we can promise that we will do everything in our power to prevent it, as well as assist in the cleanup and restoration of the website with one of our backups.
We’ll be there to resolve the issue, and if necessary restore the site from a backup as quickly as possible.
What does my 30 / 60 minutes of support cover?
Your monthly support & design time can be used for content update requests and small design improvements, these are the most common requests. However your 60 minutes can be used for any task you need, such as more complex theme or stylesheet (design) changes, new form creation, changes to existing forms, posting blogs, social media posts, email assistance, email marketing/newsletters etc.
Note: Unused time does not carry over into the next month.
Does unused support & design hours roll over?
The monthly time allocation is there to ensure that resources are available during the month, therefore it does not roll over.
Care plan support & design update requests receive priority attention.
What if I need additional support time?
If you have an update or change that requires more than your Care plan support time we evaluate requests on an individual basis. We will discuss the work with you, prepare a full proposal and submit a fixed quote for you to approve separately from your Care plan. This is all you will pay!
Payment for the additional support proposal/quote is a Deposit of 50% and the Balance upon completion of the work.
Can I just simply pay for additional support hours?
Yes! If you need additional support hours let us know and we can work out the best plan for you.
Ad-Hoc Support Hours
Charged at our standard rate of AU$120 Inc GST per Hour.
Minimum charge of 1 hour and then charged in 30 minute blocks.
Pre-Paid Support Hours
You purchase “pre-paid” support hours, in blocks of 5 hours, these never expire, at a reduced rate of AU$100 Inc GST per Hour.
These are monitored and additional work allocated in 15 minute blocks.
The benefits of “pre-paid” support hours is a reduced rate and time is allocated in 15 minute blocks, rather than 1 hour minimum & 30 minute blocks.
Can I have a Care plan if my website was not built by Elegant Websites For You?
Our website Care plans were developed for websites we build, however we welcome a relationship with new clients who are looking for a Care plan to provide that additional level of support for their website.
Firstly we undertake an evaluation, our website health check, of your current website to better understand how it was built, and to identify any potential issues if the site hasn’t been updated regularly. The website health check includes a 30-minute review call and a website evaluation report.
The evaluation report will include a list of the issues which need attention, suggestions for improvements, our recommendations and an outline any of costs that may be required to prepare your website for a Care plan.
If we proceed with a Care plan, we commence the regular cycle of full backups of the website, perform all of the necessary updates and connect our monitoring tools to start caring for your website.
